For the longest time, I watched the girlies with their 10 step routines and flawless skin, while I was busy researching what might work for me. Unfortunately, that meant buying a lot of products that either didn’t help or made my skin break out.

After a lot of trial and error, I finally found affordable skincare products that actually work, and years later, they’re still my go to for tackling rashes, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, you name it! Let’s dive in!

  1. The Neutrogena Retinol Face Moisturizer

I started using this product in my early twenties because I was afraid of using retinol directly, worried about irritation. It has been a key part of my nighttime routine for four years, helping with the bumps and rashes on my forehead. It keeps breakouts in check. The plan is to slowly increase the retinol dosage as my skin adjusts.

2. CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser

This is hands down the holy grail of cleansers! As someone with combination skin and an oily T-zone, finding the perfect cleanser that doesn’t leave me feeling dry, greasy, or irritated is a game changer. It strikes that perfect balance, keeping my skin clean and fresh without any unwanted after effects. Chef’s kiss to that!

3. CeraVe Moisturizing Cream

Canadian Gurlies (or any of my girls braving harsh winter seasons) this moisturizer is an absolute lifesaver for your face! It might feel a bit heavy for summer, but trust me, during the winter months, it’ll leave your skin feeling as smooth as butter and perfectly moisturized. No more ashy skin here, babes!

4. Kojic Acid Dark Spot Remover Soap Bars
Now, I’m going to hold your hands when I say this, babes, it’s time to say goodbye to hyperpigmentation, yesss maa’am, time to let it gooooo! Personally, I’d tell you don’t expect it to work like magic, I see you trying to tell the difference one week later, aht aht. Consistency is key, at least for me. I started seeing results after the first month. Key tip – cut it into small pieces, a little goes a long way!

5. Sleeping lip mask
As a matter of fact, I put this on while sleeping, walking, at work, out with the girls EVERYWHERE. I absolutely love how it makes my lips smooth, moisturized, and bright. I guess this one’s definitely a straightforward winner and pretty affordable too!

These are definitely a few of the top products I’d recommend for under $25. If you found this helpful and want more recommendations, definitely keep me posted! Hope this helps, loves!
